Virginia City Brewery and Taphouse is on an historic site on the Main Street of Virginia City.
The building which houses the brewery was built in 1875 after Virginia City's Great Fire.
It originally was the home of a restaurant, later a bakery, then a grocery store.
It was a gift shop before it became home to the Virginia City Brewery and its 15-bbl. brewing system in 2014.
A working brewery, there is little space for drinkers. There are about 10 seats at the bar and 3 large tables. No food is served, but Virginia City has about 10 of their own beers on tap.
A very pleasant place for a break from the arduous business of being a tourist.

It has been reported that Virginia City Brewery is permanently closed.
Also that they are "moving and changing the name."
